Herzlich wilkommen Marc

Nice looking EE9
I love those wheels, always liked the OZ Crono Evo's.

I know the feeling of having damage on the back of my car, a tractor backed up into mine.
Thank god I got my baby fixed recently so it in it full glory again

I chose to keep my rear-fogs because I'm pursuing the real JDM look for my EE9.
In Japan they were optional and in the USA they were never released.
So actually they are really JDM and rare

O yeah, I really like your custom license plate

If you have any more pics we would love to see them, and if you have any question just ask them.
Dont be intimidated about the majority of Dutch speaking members here,
we have members from all over the world

Here in Germany EVERY Civic of the 4th gen have thoose fogs because we are coerced into having them by law :tickedoff:

And as I wrote above to me they destroy the fine clean ass of my Civic. Unfortunately s.o. stole the bumper and I have to look for another one.

The license plate is a must under vtec owners here :coolsm:
First I wanted to have CB-EE9, but this was on a Motorcycle :stupid: And he will not know what treasure he has on his bike

I understand most of your dutch threads - my uncle and my aunt are living in NL. I was there for about 3 month in 2003. But writing in dutch is not able - I

hello marc,

your ee9 looks very good! i think red is also a very nice color for this mode!
i am not sure if i ever saw a rear bumper without fog lights but i think i will like it very muc!
but in most country's you need to have rear foglight because the law says so!
anyway, welcome and enjoy!

No problem, that red EE9 is from a friend of mine.
The only red Dutch EE9, Honda only imported the Barcelona Green EE9's to Holland.
But he has a original Dutch red EE9.

I know that letter :coolsm:

When I was in NL in 2003 I tried to take a look at the Hondascene on the net. But back in Germany I lost the interest, because we have a lot of Teams, Boards, aso...

But what is really missing in Germany is such a community whit the main attention on the EE/EF9

We are a big community of EE9 drivers on meetings and we know each other, but such an internetforum just for this car is missing. So I

Post by: PRF on October 21, 2005, 12:49:19 AM
Fantastic to see another EE9 enthusiast arrive here at SiR FH.
Great to read and view the EE9 community you have in Germany.
Please keep your posts and images coming.
And do encourage your fellow EE9 enthusiasts to join in the fanaticism here at SiR FH.

If I am not mistaken you are SiR FH's first german EE9 member.
This not only gives SiR FH a valuable insight into the german EE9 scene.
But also sees SiR FH become more international in flavour, and an invaluable resource for EE9/EF9 enthusiasts worldwide.
So spread the spirit of SiR FH!!!!

Feel free to look anywhere and everywhere here at SiR FH.
And proactively get involved.
Don't be intimidated by the excellent non-English sections here at SiR FH.
As the Honda content here crosses all language barriers.

I live five minutes next to the Eurospeedway Lausitzring. Maybe you guys heard of it

Thanks for introducing your fellow fanatical Honda enthusiasts to SiR FH.

Your EE9 looks more than ready for circuit battle mode IMHO.
Be it the Lausitzring, which we've heard of, or the mighty Nurburgring Nordshleife.

My friends and I would enjoy meeting you and your fellow Honda enthusiasts.
Will PM you details of our itinerary once confirmed.
All are welcome.

Well guys this weekend I replaced my driverside door because it had a lot of rust on the one side.

before
(http://img425.imageshack.us/img425/1116/g8vd.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)

(http://img425.imageshack.us/img425/3476/f5fi.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)

At least I have again a complety rustfree door and I decided to switch back to the black sidebar with the red stripe...

after
(http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/8899/b2ob.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)

Along that way I dismantle that plastic sillboard lining. At that moment I suffer a shock. My whole sillboard is full of rust and there is even a hole in it...
So it needs a replacement as soon as possible...

And alongside I need new brakes on the rear, new shaft drives hinges, new radiator and a full service is needed...

Expensive hobby - but I still love him

Great to read your EE9 updates, even though you'll be taking it off the road.
And while you'll be taking the difficult and expensive route of repairing all the rust.
Rather than simply getting rid of it.
It is both admirable, and an inspiration to the rest of us who may eventually face the same issue.  :coolsm:

Keep us updated on your restoration in progress.

Well when I was riding without any interior last year during the rebuild of my car it didnt really bother me
that I had almost no isolation.
The big difference came when I started to fill the interior again with all the carpets and plastic stuff
Then you can really tell the difference between the two.

I have the lip in stock, thx... But the finish of the trunk is bad and the whole rear bumper needs a change. The new one is at the garage of lonestar and is waiting for installation  But before there is another step to do: Remove those ugly rearfogs

And yes - VTEC centerplate would be fine - but I would just install it together with that 1.6i-VT logo. And we all know that this is a damn venture

Well guys, I know it took some time til I am writing here an update of my beloved civic. But unfortunately I have to dissapoint you all that I sold my EE9 to my buddy lonestar who has someimpressive plans for it...

But I think he has to tell you guys about it on his own thread.

Today I just show you the beginning of the new car story:

Its an celestial blue CRX EE8. I got to know this Rex 5 years ago I suppose as one of the nicest ones in Germany. My pics will show you the look of it at that time.

Then there came the time my buddy Benny sold the car. At that time my brother did not have enough money for that great Rex. It was nearly half and a year before he bought his black EE8.

The next owner of the Rex was not such an fanatic like we all here around are. He was smoking in the car and he didn

The poor Rex stood around for nearly 8 month

Then Benny asked him to sell it on eurostylez.org and I got curious about the brakes of it. So me and my good buddy lonestar came to the decision we should rescue the poor EE8. Well it was a real adventure to get the car to lonestars garage. We towed off the car to the next    petrol station and then the story started:

Title: EE8 1.6i-VT decal placement
Post by: PRF on January 30, 2007, 12:40:05 PM
Please excuse my ignorance.
But is the placement of your 1.6i-VT decal in the original position?
Apologies for those in the EU and familar with the EE8 if this is obvious.
But here in NZ we only see the JDM models.
And I'm curious if the model grade decal placement for the EE8 was the same as EF8.
Or is your pictured 1.6i-VT decal for the EE9.
Whereas the genuine EE8 decal is smaller, just like the EF8 SiR badge?

CRXs never do...

I haven't read the entire topic, so might have been answered before... but why the wheels / hubcaps from a non-VT?

And to be honest, slap the wing back on (but that's personal preference I guess)

Celestial Blue rocks...
Title: Re: buggs *new pics on p.18*
Post by: buggs on February 22, 2007, 02:46:29 PM
Exactly - the hubcaps came from an ED9. I like that stock look for my winter rims... I also have the VT alloys lying around but for me they are too good to drive them in winter...

And yes the wing is kind of personal taste and I love that clean look without it

The color of the 1.6 seems to fade away into the Celestial Blue Pearl.
Was this really the one for the CBP CRX?

This one has a more white colored 1.6

Wednesday the 13th of June there had been another trackday on the Eurospeedway Lausitzring!

Some small impressions - I just did one run due to my brakes...

I used the wintertyres and afterwards I was so glad about that decision because of some nice flat spot from braking - I started one braking maneuver at the end of the back straight a bit too late   :banghead:

Some pics:

Steel is better for a cage i think, because its stronger than alluminium. But its heavier... I don't know

But you need thicker pipes if you want to use alluminium for the same strenght.

And I did some very small details - switches, some small missing parts here and there and I changed the alu floor mats to OEM rubber ones!

Next step will be a vanisher who paints the mouldings on the front and the rear black as the side mouldings are and then I need the red stripe

Snow is not really a problem for your car, its the salt the put on the road.

USDM clear ones on yellow side markers:

Amber corners:

Well, I like the oem ones best. But if you like a different color, i'd take the amber ones. The usdm ones would be nice on a white car, but not on the barcalona green version.
And why is your headlight turned to the inside on the bottom? Or is it the corneslight which gives me this strange look at it?

Too bad my car broke down last weekend. 60km away from home.

So I ordered a new (used) distributor and a new vtec valve...

When I met a friend who helped me out by fitting theese parts I tried my window visors on his EE9 because he has installed EF9 folding mirrors. But look what I recognized:

Looks similar strange to the OEM mirrors... What kind of window visors are those??? They are genuine for the 4th G - having the Civic logo on it and the correct part number...

I do not have any ideas...

Well very small update. Due to my diploma I dont have too much money left neither time to do something but today I took some free hours.

As I am planning to swap from the currently installed ED9 interiour  :buck: to the EE8 CRX VTEC one incl. whole dashboard, doorcards, heating control etc. I always wanted to install the tachometer dimmer which came on JDM and USDM models. Too bad there is no space on the tachometer surrounding to put the switch for it.

So here is what I did:

Before:

During: took some switches  :eyes:

After:

Hope to finish my diploma thesis in 2 or 3 weeks and then I might have more time for the EE again...

You glued that on?

They needed to be glued on.

A: The preowner closed all the holes by welding.
B: They are made for EC8 which never had any holes in the door, fender etc...
C: Theese fucking parts are completely different to the ED/EE side mouldings - different materials, different measurements, different construction. So if I put on the OEM EE9 one you

Finally - after buying different sets brandnew from the dealer with different partnumbers I got the correct rear mud guards:

And the parts which seems to be common theese days here on the forum:  :eyes:

Unfortunately I explored some rust bubbles on the lefthand side rear arch  :banghead: Next winter it will be time for a new paint job and rust prevention...

Damnit I am too busy at the job right now. Did not legalised the car for road use. But nevertheless it will come soon.

Today I began to put on the first parts:

trunk compartment:

arm rest:

I think I am gonna change the top of the (perfect condition) arm rest as the grey doesnt match the rst of the interiour...

Then I began to change the glove box as it has 4 holes. Challenge is to get the suede parts of the EF9 box on the EE9 box

Nothing special at all but I have to start one day  :eyes:

Damn I do miss this car.... I will never find a gem like this again.
Good luck it found a enthousiastic new owner, who will take good care of it.

Then again, like Patrick said before, I did come back once before......
I'll always have a crush on this model and always keep my eyes open.

For example I found an EF8 in Japan with only 6.000km and LSD and ALB, but due to the current exchange rate, and the fact they are rare and wanted, this car would cost ? 15.000,- !!! excluding shipment and additional costs to get it roadlegal.
Considering that my previous EF9 was a bargain...

From what i know is that the UK ED, EC etc got foglights as standard, judging by the specs in the brochure. I think the EE9 had them as optional.

So time for a re introduction:

I bought that genuine 1990 JDM Civic EF9 in 2010 from the User Toyz here at cv.org (big thx Tommy!!!).
It was imported back in 2008 from Japan to the Netherlands.

It is a 1990 model with 9.174km on its B16A - you can imagine it drives like a new car.

Over the years I collected a lot of Access parts which should complete the car.

Enjoy:

thats the only negative thing about your car. the more you drive it, the more it looses value =(
But then again. it is a car, and a car is made to be driven =)

Although I love the RNR's for your car its just not done, your car is so clean and the EF9 wheels looks damn nice on it.

Will you also lower your car?

I lowered it on the front -2cm... Regarding the OEM wheels - I really like them. But as we spoke with Sander - in a couple of years we will install the OEM suspension and then the OEM rims will be back on the car;-)

Could it be to much Gathers in the rear? Additionally there is an air refiner installed at the OEM cargo cover at the moment :dunno:

That's a hot cargo cover but I think it would be prefered the oem cargo cover with the air refiner and the side rear speakers for your EF9.It will be more good-looking this way in my opinion. :goodstuff:

Well has been a long time since there was anything important. But its really hard to top anything on that car. BUT I have good news for you enthusiasts. After years of hard searches across the whole world I got my hands on this beauty:

indiglow H badge for Civic ( CR-X one is slightly different). Very first I saw and luckily the seller wanted to sell it!

Only thing that I can see that could improve it in this photo is painting the rear disc bells (rust looks bad) and a bit of tyre shine/blackner.

Update:

Long time no news in here so today I have some more information for you guys:

Basically I just wanted to find out where  2 or 3 wires are going but in the end I found out more than I wanted...

Seats removed:

Dashboard removed:

The wiring was "fantastic". Damn havent seen such a bad wiring work before...

Quite a few examples:

How its done now:

before / above -  after / below
(http://fs5.directupload.net/images/160406/einpbu6u.jpg)

Worst of all was the wiring to the battery:

This was made to the + and the - pole
(http://fs5.directupload.net/images/160406/ja4rbhzz.jpg)

Done properly now:

Blowoff valve - wasnt a beauty anymore...

Uninstalled the pipes too...

the same to cage and braces:

After the powder coating: RAL 9005 matt

I didnt liked the blue valve cover too much.

I always wanted the OEM yellow ITR Recraos in one of my cars so I was lloking for a good set.

So I put the black Recaro Speed SR5 into the car and sold them..

After another 600km I had a mint set in my car.

Small update:

More parts returned from the powder coating:

Battery holder and covers behind the front seats...

Then I had the problem with the former battery. It contacted the blow off valve and the hood. Additionally it was only tied by an old belt.

Wanted to go for a ride but unfortunately the car wasnt running smooth.

I think its the sealing between turbo and header. So I decided to renew it.
Found out its installed a ED radiator:-( So this needs to be replaced  some day...

Try to get it ready until the EE Meeting 2016!!

The season is done and I put her on the road for a last trip on Oct. 29th.

I only did ~100km in 2016 due to changing priorities in private live. And I put her on a trailer on the trip to the  EE-Meeting...

Few things have to be done during the winter and TÜV next summer :D

Few pics from the last meet of the season in Hamburg:

Time for an update:

USDM mirrors

Seat belts:

After:

Heater Unit
My former heater unit was broken on two tabs. The pre owner tried to fix it but he wasn successful.

Found an EF3 unit and started to change it for mine.

Good brackets:

Theres is an obviously difference between both. The small japanese fingers require larger rocker arm levers^^ Left EDM, right JDM:

Some parts required the changefrom RHD to LHD:

The only difference between both units is the scale on the upper right side:

Everything works fine again and lightens as OEM:

Nonsmoker package:

My car is a non smoker car so there is no need for the cigarette lighter. I was looking for an alternative and found 12V Power outlet from a 1998 USDM Honda Civic LX .

Ready and its working.

Shiftboot

I have Integra Type Rx seats installed and found a bnib shiftboot from a Type Rx.

My former shiftboot wasnt fitting exactly on the edges:

Now its done perfectly:

After thinking about selling the car I am at a point where  I think this might be a big mistake.

So at first I started to rearrage the "furniture" in my garage to get more space and to be able to start working on the car this winter :welcometo:

After:

C-bar Pillar installed:

Before - black gloss:

After - Powdercoated RAL9005 to match the rest of the interior parts:

2 or 3 years ago I found that the lock of the glove box is chrome. I always wanted to have that one because I have multiple chrome parts in the interior.

After large search I found out the Accord glove box lock is nearly the same. I found one in the US from a 1988 Accord Sedan.

EE-glove box:

Accord glove box:

As expected both were not interchangeable. The Accord one was larger.

My very first try of plastic welding:

Then I tried it directly on the good parts:

Not a beauty but its working  :danc1:.

Then the outside:

Finally assembled for the first time:

Due to the cage I wasnt able to open the glove box so I really do not needed the chrome glove box lock^^

But I tried my best:

And the result:

Small update.

I had the OEM Honda Access dashmat in my former EFs. Unfortunately Honda only did them for RHD cars.

Johnny Tegiwa ( http://www.tegiwaimports.com/tegiwa-replica-edm-rubber-dash-mat-honda-civic-crx-ef.html (http://www.tegiwaimports.com/tegiwa-replica-edm-rubber-dash-mat-honda-civic-crx-ef.html) ) now produces LHD Replicas.

I received the very first sample to test fit it in a LHD car!

I really love it. Nearly the same as the OEM part. Very well done.

Wow, that's a nice upgrade. I was wondering when someone would try and replicate it for LHD.
