Welcome to SiR FH!!!!

For those of us here not familiar with the USDM.
Could you tell us about your Civic 1.6i-VT.
Is it a genuine EE9, ,or have you converted a USM Civic?
What was its original model grade, and specification when you first bought it?

Love the touch of the Union Jack below the right rear tail light.
Very reminiscent of the recent EP3 Civic Type R, produced at Honda UK Manufacturing/HUM, when sold in the JDM.
Though if I'm not mistaken EE9 like EF9 were manufactured in Japan.

Likewise, I like the European number plate.
Interesting alloys fitted.
What are they?
And their dimensions?

Tell us about yourself.
Your interests.
And your goals with your 1.6i-VT.

Feel free to look anywhere and everywhere here at SiR FH.
And to proactively get involved.
Don't be intimidated by the excellent non-English sections here at SiR FH.
As the Honda content here crosses all language barriers.
High revvingly yours,

PRF.

Thanks for the welcome.
Well its not a real 1.6i-VT although i wish it was. I have been trying to locate a lot of parts that are EU based so i can trasform my car. And plus its a lot easier for me because most EU cars are already LHD so no need to buy a front clip or anything.
When I first purchased it was crap, that should have been the model...
But it was a ED6 STD, which over here in america is the base model 4 speed, which the only good thing with that is, its the lightest frame which is better for swaps

Are EE9 really manufactured in Japan?? Ours are either from Canada or Japan mine being from Canada.

Welcome to the SiR Forum.
Nice ride, you've made some great progress from being a ED6 to what you have now.
Not feeling that big spoiler actually, I rather would see you had the EF9 SiR spoiler,
thats a little smaller
You should also try gettin the rear chin-spoiler for you bumper, but my guess is that you are trying to locate that.
And do you have any better pics of those Mugen replica side-skirts?
And were they made especially for the 88-91 Civic or are they from a later model Civic?

If you are looking for some EDM stuff for the EE9 dont hesitate to ask, we might be able to help you out there

Yes the EE9's were also made in Japan and then imported to The Netherlands.
We also know where they were made through the blue VIN plate, theres a code on it which tells us when and where it was made.

Heres an example what of VIN plate could look like for a EE9
JHM EE9 38 00 S2 00001

JHM= Japan Honda Motor Co Ltd.
EE8 / EE9= Type of chassis, EE8 being CRX EE9 the Civic
3= Transmission type (5-speed manual gearbox)
8= Type (no further info available on this number)
00= Just a code, no other info available
S= Place of build (S= Suzuka factory Japan)
2= Year of build (0=1988, 1=1989, 2=1990, 3=1991) (VTEC only S2 of S3)
00001= Serialnumber for the car

Nordschleife Lap Counter with EE9
2008: 2 laps
2009: 32 laps
2010: 33 laps

Hi and welcome here at SFH Forum!

I like your car alot
You have done your best to turn that poor ED6 into a brilliant conversion of the EE9 1.6VT.
Why this facination for the European version? and not the EF9 counterpart?
There're still a few small details not present like the rear chin spoiler and '90/91 taillights.
But you're gettin there

I see you have the J's racing rear hatch spoiler and front spoiler, not feeling the rear spoiler though.
But I am a big fan of the front chin spoiler, i have the same one
Really lovin those Mugen rep. sides.
And a B16A/1 swap is a big must for such a good looking car
Keep us posted on any progress with your car

And yes the EE9 was produced in Japan....

Don't be afraid to post in Dutch topics to, like our "Nieuwe leden" section to ask something about their cars.
Have fun and enjoy your stay.
