And what exactly is different on a ITR mid-pipe or a aftermarket mid-pipe with a bigger diameter?

the diameter should be the same. the only difference for us is, that the ITR midpipe is just lying in my garage - so there's no need to buy another one  :wink:

edit: the diameter of the itr midpipe is 55mm, i think that's good for the B16...
